Who we are

The Transgender Resource Project is a developing directory of resources for medical/psychological providers, family members, and trans people at various stages in their transition. The ultimate goal is to house information regarding medical programs, support groups, and community organizations that help to support and uplift the transgender community. This site and project are a work in progress and essentially a living document. If you are aware of programs/resources not listed, please email us at the address at the bottom of the page or click the contact tab.

This project was initiated by Silvia Hammer (she/her/hers), a clinical psychology doctoral candidate studying at the University of Hartford. She is a transgender woman with a deep passion for supporting her community and knows the particular challenges that trans people face in healthcare settings and beyond. The development of this website was supported by Hartford Psychological Services, a community private practice that is committed to supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Silvia will continue to maintain this website, aided by information and resources provided by providers and people in the community, as it grows to hopefully help trans people find support and affirmative care across the country. More long-term, Silvia hopes to one day open her own private practice that specializes in care for transgender people and the larger LGBTQIA+ community.
